Hey — I’m Carissa, and I’m so glad you’re here.

Senior year is a once-in-a-lifetime season, and it deserves to be captured boldly. This is the year of big moments, late nights, loud cheers, and stepping into who you’re becoming. My job? To make sure you remember it feeling confident, seen, and fully yourself.

I specialize in senior portraits that feel real, effortless, and unforgettable. No stiff poses. No forced smiles. Just personality, movement, and images that actually feel like you. Your session isn’t just about photos — it’s about the experience. I want you walking away thinking, “She really got me.” You’re never just another client here. I’m cheering you on every step of the way.

I’ve called Detroit Lakes, Minnesota home for over 28 years. I’m married to my summer sweetheart, Brady, and we have three kids — Mikayla, Drew, and Brooklyn — plus two golden retrievers, Remy and Stella. We’re true Lakers fans and you’ll find us at games, performances, and school events all year long. Go Lakers!

In addition to photography, I’m also a full-time Realtor with Counselor Realty of Detroit Lakes. Working with people through major life milestones — whether it’s senior year or finding a place to call home — is what I love most. Both careers are rooted in connection, trust, and storytelling, and they blend together more naturally than you might expect.

My love for photography started back in high school when I did some modeling and became fascinated with posing, lighting, and telling stories through images. A huge thank-you to my art teacher, Mr. Street, for encouraging me to keep creating — that spark never left. I’ve been photographing portraits since 2005, and I’m incredibly grateful I still get to do what I love.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me soaking up lake life in the summer, trying new recipes, or catching up on a binge-worthy series.
